BEA launches the Account Opening Attestation Service for Hong Kong residents, to apply account opening for mainland personal type II bank account* without leaving Hong Kong. With simple and fast process, offering consumption and payment convenience for customers in Greater Bay Area.

Mainland BEA China Personal Type II Bank Account
Advantages of service
- Simple and fast application: Complete the application process easily;
- Free account opening: No charge on account opening, no minimum balance requirement for the mainland bank account;
- Mobile payment throughout Greater Bay Area: link with mainstream mobile payment applications in the mainland for consumption and payment;
- Enhanced security with transaction limit: Mainland bank account have daily and annual transaction limit.
Account Opening and application procedure
- Customers who are at least 18 years old and have a BEA Hong Kong personal savings account with normal account status, only need to hold a Hong Kong Permanent resident identity card, a Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (Home Return Permit) and a Hong Kong or Mainland mobile phone number under their name, go to any BEA Hong Kong Branch to complete the application of attestation service for mainland account opening;
- After completing the account opening approval, if the account opening is successful, customers will receive a notification, and can go to the designated BEA Hong Kong Branch to collect account information and activate the account;
- Customers can remit funds to that mainland account through BEA Hong Kong's remittance service;
- Customers can link the mainland account with major mainland mobile payment apps to enjoy the convenience of mobile payment
Characteristics of the Mainland Accounts Opened through BEA Hong Kong Account Opening Attestation Service
- Functions include cash deposit and withdrawal in the Mainland, transfer of funds, binding with mainstream mobile payment apps in the Mainland for consumption and bill payment
- The daily payment limit is RMB 10,000 (the cash withdrawal limit of ATMs in the Mainland is RMB 1,000 per day), and the annual payment limit is RMB 200,000

香港的「匯款專戶」與內地的「投資專戶」配對,賬戶間資金流動進行閉環管理。
其後,香港投資者可透過在香港的匯款專戶,將人民幣款項匯至內地的投資專戶(受限於個人額度100萬元人民幣及總體額度1500億元人民幣),並透過該投資專戶購買東亞中國銷售的合資格理財產品。

*Mainland Personal Type II Bank Account Services are provided by The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited, which are currently only available to be opened in The Bank of East Asia (China) branches and sub-branches within the same city(excluding other cities branch) in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai in the Greater Bay Area of the Mainland.
