According to the Employment and Retirement Schemes Legislation (Offsetting Arrangement) (Amendment) Bill 2022 on 9th June 2022, The Government will implement the abolish of the use of the accrued benefits of employers’ mandatory contributions under the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) System to offset Severance Payments (SP) and Long Service Payments (LSP) (the offsetting arrangement) on 1st May, 2025. BEA (MPF) Master Trust Scheme under BEAT is successfully on-boarded to the eMPF Platform on 5th March 2025. For the onboarding details, please refer to the below announcement published on 30th August 2024 - “BEA (MPF) Master Trust Scheme is scheduled to be on-boarded to the eMPF Platform on 5th March, 2025 ”. In this regard, the MPF Scheme Brochure and Key Scheme Information Document (“KSID”) for BEA (MPF) Master Trust Scheme have been updated accordingly. A new addendum to the MPF Scheme Brochure for BEA (MPF) Master Trust Scheme and BEA (MPF) Value Scheme has been issued on 28th February, 2025. This will include the disclosure changes in relation to the Special Voluntary Contribution (“SVC”) Account termination clauses that the Trustee has the right to terminate the membership of a SVC Account Member for compliance purposes. Effective 5th March, 2025, information and records of your MPF account under BEA (MPF) Master Trust Scheme will be transferred to the eMPF Platform. While BEAT remains the trustee of the scheme, eMPF Company will utilize the eMPF Platform to provide scheme administration services to you and handle your service instructions. From then on, you can manage your MPF on the eMPF Platform and should no longer submit service instructions to BEAT. BEAT will cease accepting service instructions based on different cut-off dates. Please read the Notice to Participating Employers and Scheme Members below. With the gradual onboarding of BEA MPF Schemes to the eMPF Platform, the MPF enquiry services on Automated Teller Machine (ATM) are suspended with effect from 28th October, 2024. Scheme members no longer make fund balance and contribution record enquiries available on ATM. The onboarding date of BEA (MPF) Value Scheme is 29th October, 2024. In support of the implementation of arrangements for maintaining normal operations of the Hong Kong securities and derivatives markets during severe weather conditions, starting on 23rd September 2024 (the "Effective Date"), we are pleased to inform you that with effect from the Effective Date, online instructions for the Change of Investment Allocation of Existing Account Balance (i.e. Fund Switching) (the “Instruction”) will be available via the BEA Online or BEA Mobile on a severe weather trading day (“SWT Day”). Further, de-risking of Default Investment Strategy originally scheduled to take place will continue to be processed on an SWT Day. Severe weather conditions refer to the scenario where a typhoon signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory, or an “extreme conditions” announcement is made the HKSAR Government. An SWT Day refers to any day from Monday to Friday except a Hong Kong public holiday on which severe weather falls. Please note that the cut-off time for handling valid “Instruction” submitted through the BEA Online or BEA Mobile remains unchanged, which is 4:00 p.m. on the relevant SWT Day. Valuation of Constituent Funds on each SWT Day will be conducted in the usual way to derive the unit price of the relevant Constituent Funds on the relevant SWT Day. For the avoidance of doubt, except for the specified services set out above, all other services or operations of the Scheme including but not limited to the BEA MPF Administration Centre and hotline services will remain closed and suspended on an SWT Day. After your participating MPF Scheme(s) is onboarded to eMPF Platform (the "Platform"), the Instruction (subject to availability of Platform service) shall be directly submitted to the Platform.
