BEA Joins
Hands with JETCO
to Launch JetCert Service
Hong Kong, 11 November 2002 ¡V The Bank of East Asia (¡§BEA¡¨) today announced that it has joined hands with Joint Electronic Teller Services Limited (¡§JETCO¡¨), a major operator of ATM networks and a recognised certification authority, to offer the JetCert digital certificate to BEA customers.
BEA Corporate Cyberbanking customers will be able to use JetCert to authenticate a wide range of banking transactions online with a high level of security.
Using advanced Public Key Infrastructure technology, the JetCert provides a secure and reliable environment for users to conduct banking transactions over the Internet. It offers a much higher level of security than a simple user name / password combination. BEA Corporate Cyberbanking customers can now apply for this convenient new service at any BEA branch in Hong Kong.
Since the launch of Corporate Cyberbanking last year, BEA continues to enhance the service with new and convenient features to meet the needs of corporate customers. In addition to monitoring account balances, making fund transfers, placing and renewing time deposits and accessing the latest foreign exchange and deposit rates, BEA corporate customers are now able to make T/T and CHATS transfers; open and amend Letters of Credit; submit MPF remittance statements and arrange employees¡¦ salary payment online.
