The Bank of East Asia Announces
New Standard Savings Rate and Best Lending Rate

Hong Kong, 7 November 2002 – The Bank of East Asia, Limited announces that its Standard Savings Rate for HK Dollar Savings Accounts will be lowered from 0.125% per annum to 0.010% per annum, while the Best Lending Rate will be lowered from 5.125% per annum to 5.000% per annum. The change will take effect from Friday, 8 November 2002.
